"Today is a dark day for the United States Senate. The American people deserve the truth about the January 6th attack on the Capitol. This bipartisan commission is the way to get that -- and to prevent another assault on our democracy. But Republicans just filibustered it for purely political purposes -- a total dereliction of duty to our country and to the U.S. Capitol Police who put their lives on the line. I'm disgusted -- there's no other way to put it."
