Beyer Requests For Northern Virginia Infrastructure Priorities Included In House Surface Transportation Bill

Late last week, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure completed a marathon markup of the Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation [INVEST] in America Act. The legislation, which House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer subsequently indicated will receive a floor vote in the House during the final week of June, included all four of Rep. Don Beyer's (D-VA) member-designated transportation project requests.

"These projects will help create jobs in Northern Virginia while improving our transportation infrastructure," said Rep. Beyer. "Workers and businesses in our region and across the country will benefit substantially from the infrastructure investments contained in the INVEST In America Act. I look forward to helping pass this important surface transportation legislation to benefit American communities, and thank the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for its leadership."
