Today, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) toured the Rowan Regional Crime Information Center alongside the Salisbury Police Department, Rowan County Sheriff's Office, Spencer Police Department, and other local officials.

The RRCIC was made possible through a $500,000 Bureau of Justice Assistance "Strategies in Policing Innovation' grant from the Department of Justice. Rep. Budd announced the grant would be awarded to the City of Salisbury on September 30, 2019, after advocating for it in a letter on June 6, 2019.

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"I'm proud that this funding was awarded to the City of Salisbury and that this community will have increased resources to fight violent crime and maintain safe streets. This grant underscores the importance of supporting our law enforcement with our words as well as our deeds. Increasing funding for police will translate into safer communities."
