$1.99 Million for the City of San Antonio

WASHINGTON , DC- Congressman Henry Cuellar announced today the approval of a $1.99 million Public Assistance grant to the State of Texas to reimburse the City of San Antonio for 100 percent of eligible costs associated with providing temporary sheltering operations for Hurricane Katrina evacuees. These federal funds are made available under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance Program.
Congressman Cuellar said, "Our communities rely on their government to get them through unforeseen disasters safely and intelligently. The money and effort that the city of San Antonio has invested in caring for their fellow Americans in their greatest time of need will not be forgotten." He added, "I am pleased to continue working with my colleagues in the Texas Delegation to continue to bring federal dollars home."
