"The escalating cycle of violence must cease immediately. I spoke to the Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations last Friday on May 14th. I voiced the need for the U.S. to play a more active role in bringing calm to the region immediately. Peace, security, and prosperity for the people of Israel or Palestinians living in Israel, Gaza or the West Bank will not be won with the blood of civilians.
Following a visit to Israel in the early 2010's, I wrote this poem to give voice to what my heart felt then, and I would like to share it at this time."
