Sen. Cruz Applauds Plan to Repair the Rio Grande Valley's Levee Wall System

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement after the Department of Homeland Security announced they would take steps to repair the Rio Grande Valley's levee wall system:
"I am pleased President Biden and the Department of Homeland Security are listening and now moving to shore up the levee wall system that had been unthoughtfully halted. These repairs are necessary, crucial, and urgently needed to protect the public safety of Hidalgo County residents as hurricane season rapidly approaches and flooding could become a serious threat."
BACKGROUND
Sen. Cruz sent a letter last week to President Biden urging an immediate restarting of construction to the Rio Grande Valley levee wall system.
