Press Release

Date: April 30, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Chairwoman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Competition Policy, Antitrust, and Consumer Rights, released the following statement on charges issued by the European Commission regarding Apple's App Store conduct:

"At our hearing on app store competition last week, we heard troubling allegations about Apple and Google's behavior. When Apple abuses its power to suppress competition and hurt other businesses, enforcement agencies need to take action. The charges brought in Europe only reaffirm that app store policies and conduct deserve both careful scrutiny and action in our own country."
