Rogers Reaction to State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05) issued the following statement in reaction to President George W. Bush's "State of the Union" address:

"President Bush outlined a forward looking agenda that addresses our nation's most pressing domestic and national security issues. I value the President's leadership and appreciate his vision for keeping the economy moving, improving access to affordable health care and reducing America's dependency on foreign oil. These issues are of critical importance to the people of Kentucky, and it is clear that the President shares our priorities.

I was pleased to hear President Bush reiterate his commitment to fighting terrorism both at home and abroad. Recently renewed threats from al-Qaeda's Ayman al-Zawahiri clearly illustrate that terrorist organizations still desire and are actively plotting to launch attacks on U.S. soil. The President's dedication to protecting the homeland is second to none, and I will continue working with him to strengthen security here at home."
