Rice Statement on Conviction of Derek Chauvin

Rep. Kathleen Rice (NY-04) released the following statement on the conviction of Derek Chauvin:

"George Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin. Today's verdict confirms what we all knew to be true. I commend George Floyd's family for their strength during this process and their continued dedication to the cause of justice. Now we must continue to fight to deliver justice for all Black Americans. No single bill can eradicate systemic racism or police brutality at once, but the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act is an important first step. It is time for the Senate to pass it and deliver it to President Biden to be signed into law."
