U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture awarded the following two grants totaling $680,000 to North Dakota State University (NDSU):

$500,000 to improve durable crown rust resistance and nutritional quality in oats, and
$180,000 to enhance improvement of grain yield and protein content in hard red spring wheat.
