Franklin to Serve on Critical Armed Services Subcommittees

Today, U.S. Representative Scott Franklin (R-Fla.) announced that he will serve on two subcommittees as a member of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC). Franklin will serve on the subcommittee on Cyber, Innovative Technologies, and Information Systems and the subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations.
Franklin, a retired commander, served in the United States Navy as an aviator for 26 years (14 active duty, 12 reserves). He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Air Command & Staff College. He also flew combat operations in the Gulf War, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
"Florida serves a home to thousands of our servicemembers, and I am honored to serve the folks at home -- and countless other servicemembers -- as a member of the House Armed Services Committee," said Congressman Scott Franklin. "With Special Operations Command and Central Command located just outside my district in Tampa, I am honored support these operations on these new subcommittees. I thank Ranking Member Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) for his confidence in appointing me to these subcommittees, and I look forward to serving alongside my colleagues to ensure the safety of all Americans."
The Subcommittee on Cyber, Innovative Technologies, and Information Systems (CITI) will have jurisdiction over the following:
Cyber Security, Operations, and Forces
Information Technology, Systems, and Operations
Science and Technology Programs and Policy
Defense-Wide Research and Development (except Missile Defense and Space)
Artificial Intelligence Policy and Programs
Electromagnetic Spectrum Policy
Electronic Warfare Policy
Computer Software Acquisition Policy
The Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations (ISO) will have the following jurisdiction:
Military Intelligence
National Intelligence
Special Operations Forces
Countering chemical, biological, and radiological weapons of mass destruction
Counter-Proliferation
Counterterrorism
Sensitive Military Operations
