Rep. Delgado Votes to Pass National Apprenticeship Act

Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) voted to pass the National Apprenticeship Act, a proposal to help Americans get back to work by creating nearly 1 million new apprenticeship opportunities.

"The National Apprenticeship Act is good for workers, employers, and taxpayers," said Rep. Antonio Delgado. "This $3.5 billion investment will yield a projected $10.6 billion in net benefits to U.S. taxpayers. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, we must invest in workforce development and skills training programs. I urge the Senate to take up this legislation as soon as possible to help more Americans get back to work and support job growth across New York's 19th congressional district."

The bipartisan National Apprenticeship Act of 2021, invests more than $3.5 billion over 5 years in expanding opportunities and access to Registered Apprenticeships, youth apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeships. The proposal would create nearly 1 million new apprenticeship opportunities on top of the current expected growth of the apprenticeship system.
