Rep. Delgado Votes to Advance COVID-19 Transportation and Infrastructure Relief

U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) voted to advance nearly $100 billion in critical COVID-19 transportation and infrastructure relief. This funding will be included in Congress's next comprehensive COVID-19 relief package.

"This package protects workers, keeps transit systems in motion, and provides economic assistance to struggling communities," said Rep. Antonio Delgado. "Now more than ever, we need a robust transportation system to ensure that our essential workers are able to get to and from work and that important medical and commercial supplies get to their intended location. This package also includes vital economic development funding, including relief specifically for the tourism industry that has been hard hit by the pandemic. Congress must pass this legislation to protect our workers and our economy."

The House Transportation and Infrastructure COVID-19 Relief Package Includes:

$50 billion for FEMA for reimbursement to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments.
$30 billion in relief for transit agencies to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the ongoing threat of COVID-19.
$280.9 million in operating assistance formula grants for states to support rural transit agencies in areas of fewer than 50,000 people.
$100.0 million for intercity bus service that provides essential connections to rural transit.
$8 billion in emergency aid for primary airports, non-primary airports, and airport concessions.
$3 billion for the Economic Development Administration to provide economic adjustment assistance for fiscal year 2021 to prevent, prepare for, and respond to economic injury caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
$450 million of this funding will be used to provide the tourism industry with much-needed relief.
$1.5 billion to keep Amtrak fully operational through fiscal year 2021
$820 million for the Northeast Corridor and $680 million for the National Network.
$1.5 million from the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund.
