U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) today announced his committee assignments for the 117th Congress. Senator Padilla will serve on the U.S. Senate Committees on Budget; Rules and Administration; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC); Environment and Public Works (EPW); and Judiciary.
"I'm honored to represent California on these five committees that will each provide a unique platform to address many of the critical issues facing our state. From tackling climate change and strengthening election security to implementing comprehensive immigration reform, and prioritizing vacancies in California courts and diversifying our judicial bench, these committee assignments will allow me to fight for the issues that are front and center in California. And I remain committed to securing needed Covid-19 relief and focusing our economic recovery in a way that builds our communities back stronger and more equitably than before. I'm eager to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get things done for the people of California and the nation."
