On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Congressman Al Green released the following statement in support of H.Res. 21:

"The January 6 insurrection of the Capitol has underscored what we have known for four years: Donald John Trump is unfit for the presidency of the United States of America. His seditious statements and behavior incited a violent, unmanageable uprising against what was thought to be one of the most secure and sacred spaces in the federal government. For that, I believe Vice President Pence must assume the remainder of this presidency. If he does not, impeachment is the only viable option," Congressman Al Green -- who brought three sets of articles of impeachment to a vote on the House floor in 2017, 2018, and 2019 with the support of over 100 different Members -- stated. "I support H.Res. 21, calling for Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment. Our country cannot continue to suffer under Mr. Trump's harmful leadership."
