Boozman, Cotton Urge SBA to Halt PPP Funds to Planned Parenthood

U.S. Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) sent a letter urging U.S. Small Business Administrator Jovita Carranza to prevent Planned Parenthood affiliates from receiving illegal loans under the second round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The move follows-up on the senators' request last year for the Department of Justice to investigate whether dozens of Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country, despite knowing they were ineligible, applied for and received loans totaling more than $80 million from the first round of PPP.

Background:

In a letter from May 2020, Senators Boozman, Cotton and 25 of their colleagues called for investigations into Planned Parenthood affiliates for pursuing illegal loans under the Paycheck Protection Program.
