Dear Messrs. Flynn and Coscia,
As Members of the Long Island Congressional Delegation, we represent millions of Long Island Railroad riders concerned with the lack of progress on the rehabilitation of the East River Tunnels. We write in support of New York State Senators Kaminsky, Comrie, Kennedy, Kaplan, Gaughran, Brooks, and Thomas and County Executives Laura Curran and Steve Bellone's January 4th letter (attached) requesting you provide a detailed plan and timeline for addressing the rehabilitation of the East River Tunnels and why "in-service refurbishment," which can resolve it faster and cheaper, cannot be implemented and undertaken now.
We look forward to working with you to address this vital issue to our constituents.
