U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03), released the following statement in response to President Trump's veto of the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
"The President's veto is purely political, putting his vanity above our national security. Section 230 is not remotely related to our national defense priorities and is not a reason to jeopardize the wellbeing of our servicemembers, veterans, and national security. The President also took issue with removing the names of Confederate generals from our military bases. This is a slap in the face of every servicemember brave enough to fight for our flag, the American flag. The NDAA has passed with bipartisan support every year for nearly six decades. I'm confident that my Republican and Democratic colleagues will join me to overturn this haphazard veto and pass a three percent pay raise for our servicemembers, expanded health care for veteran families, and other key policies to strengthen our national security."
