Following President Donald Trump's remarks concerning Egypt "blowing up" the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project, Congressman Neguse has this statement:
"I strongly oppose the President's latest remarks about the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project. The suggestion that Egypt would "blow up" the GERD is an irrational call for violence in a region where we know peace cannot be taken for granted. These remarks, along with the pullback of $100 million in aid to Ethiopia from the U.S., unnecessarily harms a country where both aid and investment is needed. The Congressional Black Caucus has repeatedly suggested that the President stay neutral in these negotiations, and I would strongly reiterate that request."
