Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) released the following statement after being unanimously re-elected to serve on the House Republican Steering Committee for the 117th Congress. The Steering Committee recommends members of the U.S. House of Representatives for committee assignments and chairmanships after analyzing a range of factors, including member background, expertise on issues, and level of seniority. This is Womack's fourth term on the Republican Steering Committee, where he represents members from Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico:
"It's an honor to have the continued support of my colleagues to serve on the House Republican Steering Committee. With many challenges ahead of us during the 117th Congress, it is critical that members are positioned to use their leadership in a way that best serves their districts and the American people. Our conference is united behind fighting for hardworking families and building a stronger nation based on pro-growth principles -- and I know that representatives from Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Puerto Rico are ready to advance this agenda. I'm committed to ensuring that lawmakers' voices are heard as important committee assignments are decided."
