Issue Position

Our jobs and our businesses have taken a major hit in 2020 as the ever-changing realities of COVID-19 impact our workplaces. I will work for continued COVID relief and look for more ways to cut regulations that thwart our businesses so we can get Ohioans back to work. Our small businesses make up 98% of Ohio businesses. We need our small businesses -- and these vital jobs for our region -- to survive.

I will also keep focused on the workforce issues Ohio will face in the coming years. We need increased partnerships with our high schools, colleges and universities, skilled trades, businesses and industries to ensure we are matching career pathways and skills training with the needs of 21st Century jobs and employers. I will also champion continued strong funding for our adult workers to advance their skills through TechCred and other programs so they and their employers can do the work required by our technology-infused economy. A skilled workforce helps ensure jobs stay and keep coming to Ohio.
