Issue Position

I serve as a member of the Education Policy committee where we dive into issues that structure policy to hopefully support our teachers and Administration with things that make sense. I'm a business owner, not a public teacher. I have had many tours of all school buildings in my district, shadowing teachers and principals alike and meeting with school boards to hear concerns firsthand..

I believe we need to invest more resources into mental health for kids in K-12. We must focus on why our achievement gaps continue to decline and take a hard look at how we teach students. We need more "hands on' training for students who don't want four years of college, but want to get to work. We need to pay our newest teachers better and prepare them for the students with today's challenges. I support safe school investments and reducing unnecessary paperwork for our special ed teachers.
