Raised in a family of doctors with her parents first practicing medicine in Queens, Jenifer knows firsthand the importance of making the health care system work for her Queens neighbors.
Jenifer will be an advocate for our community to local hospitals, making sure these hospitals provide world class health care to her constituents. She will be an advocate for her constituents in the hospitals that serve her constituents including Jamaica Hospital and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. She will also fight for more urgent care clinics for our district.
Jenifer will fight for low-cost, affordable health care for all. The people of Queens are drowning in premiums, deductibles, and co-payments, and the cost of prescription drugs is too high. To solve this problem, Jenifer believes that the health care system should be restructured for efficiency. The United States already spends about $4 trillion, or 18 percent of its total Gross Domestic Product on health care. Our leaders must ensure that this money is spent effectively and efficiently. Government run health care programs are shown to be efficient, with the administrative costs of some federal health care programs only 2%. As a lawyer, Jenifer saved millions in taxpayer dollars by keeping companies from defrauding the Medicare and Medicaid programs. She will continue to combat fraud and inefficiency to ensure that health care is well run, affordable and accessible to all.
