You may hear that Georgia is losing available medicaid dollars being provided by the federal government. This is not a whole truth but an inflammatory statement to misinform the public. The group of people in Georgia that this actually applies is close to 250,000 peope and yet there are 1,500,000 million UNINSURED people in Georgia who equally need insurance. Georgia lawmakers have created a waiver to address ALL of Georgia's uninsured not just those below 100% of the poverty line that Obamacare "Medicaid expansion" would address. Lawmakers have created two waivers that would offer Medicaid coverage for those below the 100% of the federal poverty line AND left in the "gap" created by Obamacare. The second waiver would lower health insurance premiums for those using insurance exchange plans. These waivers allow Georgians access to insurance while bettering themselves. When this waiver was presented to the legislature, ONLY ONE Democrat voted for it!!??? Why??? To preserve the legacy of "Obama care" only - refusing to help their fellow Georgians!! These waivers allow lower premiums to qualifying Georgians allowing them to have access to affordable healthcare in the same group that would receive the funds from the federal government. In addition, a dirty little secret to Obama Care is this: Able bodied adults can receive .90 cents per every $1 of benefit from Obama Care while DISABLED children can only receive .67 cents on the dollar!! This is vile and reprehensible. The "lost" Medicaid dollars that many Democrats continue to speak of are based on this insensitive unequal reimbursement value that incentivizes health care for ABLE BODIED adults over that of DISABLED children due to a higher payoff available to the medical industry. Do the math.
