Karla will fight to improve access to healthcare and the quality of care received, while addressing greater transparency in our healthcare system -- especially concerning costs. She is seeking solutions to solve rising health insurance deductibles that are crushing our insured families every time any illness occurs.

Missouri's Medicaid program is one of the most expensive and fastest-growing programs in the state. It is plagued with fraud and often poor care, while the high costs are shifting money away from schools.

Karla wants to reform Medicaid by adding greater accountability and cracking down on fraud and abuse. Her plan will adopt emerging technologies, better management, and innovation to provide better quality care for less cost. Her plan will assist people to take greater responsibility for preventive care and healthy living, resulting in fewer illnesses and lower costs.

Karla will take on Big Pharma. The cost of medicine continues to increase, putting pressure on our families. Karla supports confronting the pharmaceutical industry to have them charge Missouri patients the same that they charge people from other countries. Karla believes giant corporations shouldn't be subsidizing drugs overseas while charging our families and seniors exorbitant cost at home.
