The next generation is the most important one. We must work hard and focus on our education system. One of the markers that I feel is a great litmus test are the third grade reading levels of our students.. If a child is not reading "on level" by the third grade, their chances of ever catching up greatly diminish. I will be working with students, teachers and fellow legislators to increase resources for teachers and students. It is my intent to show a statewide increase in third grade reading levels by the time I am done.
