Earlier today, Governor Greg Abbott used his emergency powers to limit counties from establishing sites for qualified voters to securely return their absentee ballots. This is expected to impact Texans over the age of 65 and people with disabilities the most. Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) issued the following statement in response:
"In the middle of a deadly pandemic, why on earth would Governor Abbott make it harder for people to cast their ballots? This is ridiculous."
