Our kids and grandkids are depending on us to take immediate action to address the biggest challenge of our time: climate change. We must halt and reverse the devastating effects of man-made climate change by working tirelessly to implement solutions.
I am a co-sponsor of the Climate Action Now Act to get the U.S. back into the Paris Climate Agreement and the 100% Clean Economy Act, which calls for a net-zero pollution economy by 2050 and works to improve public health and create clean jobs.
I helped draft and pass the Moving Forward Act, which increases funding for low and zero-emission buses and ferries, investing in public transit, greening the transportation sector and the electric grid and promoting new renewable energy infrastructure.
I am acting locally to secure clean water, a sustainable environment and green and resilient infrastructure by putting dollars behind electric buses, light rail in Lynnwood and efforts to restore salmon habitat at the mouths of the Stillaguamish, Skagit and Snohomish rivers.
I am the founder and co-chair of the bipartisan Estuaries Caucus to champion robust federal funding to support these critical ecosystems, and a strong supporter of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. I am also a co-sponsor of the Save our Seas 2.0 Act to improve U.S. response to marine debris and encourage international cooperation to address marine plastics.
