Recognizing Leroy Krebs 100th Birthday and His Years of Service to His Country

Mr. PERRY. Madam Speaker, I'm honored to congratulate Leroy Krebs on the occasion of his 100th Birthday, and for his years of service to the American Legion, the Susquehannock High School, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the United States of America.

Mr. Krebs was born on June 17, 1920, in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from December 1, 1942 to February 2, 1946, as a bombardier instructor for B-24 Bombers. He left active service at the rank of First Lieutenant, after earning the American Theater Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He served with the 2519th Base Unit in Ft Worth, Texas, and remained in the United States Air Force Reserve until he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel upon 38 years of uniformed service.

He graduated from Temple University, and taught and coached basketball at Glen Rock (now Susquehannock) High School. He later became the school principal, and for 14 years worked at the School until retiring in 1978.

In addition to Leroy's military service, teaching, coaching and serving as principal, Leroy was a Master of the Shrewsbury Masonic Lodge and an active member and former commander of Austin Grove Post 455 of the American Legion. Leroy also was a proud member of the Glen Rock Carolers for 35 years.

Today, Leroy lives independently at Normandie Ridge retirement community.

I'm truly honored and humbled to congratulate Mr. Leroy Krebs on turning 100 Years Young, and for his tireless, selfless, dedicated, and distinguished service to the American Legion, Susquehannock High School, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the United States of America.
