Capito: Coal Miners, They Are Our Heroes

CHARLESTON, WV - (1/4)- Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) released the following statement today regarding the loss of twelve coal miners in Upshur County:

"We hoped for the best but now face the worst," said Capito. "Coal miners are the backbone of our state - they are our heroes. We will wrap our arms around the families and friends of our lost miners to help them cope with this unbearable loss. They will undoubtedly remain in our thoughts and prayers."

"It will take time, but there will be answers. I am going to pay close attention to the investigations that the U.S. Department of Labor and the State of West Virginia will conduct. These inquiries should be thorough to ensure family members have as much information as possible about what happened to their loved ones."
