Rep. Banks Backs Clean Continuing Resolution

Statement

Date: Sept. 22, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Jim Banks, Chair of the Republican Study Committee's Budget and Spending Task Force, released the following statement:

"Since the House has failed to complete the regular appropriations process this year, and to avoid a government shutdown amidst a pandemic, Supreme Court nomination and election, the best scenario is for Congress to quickly pass a clean continuing resolution to continue funding the government until after the election. It is inappropriate for Congress to add policy riders that would expand federal programs, among other things, just weeks before national elections," said Banks.
