Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer and Congressman Kelly Armstrong today issued the following statement after President Donald Trump approved Governor Doug Burgum's request for a major presidential disaster declaration for the severe summer weather occurring June 29 to July 1, 2020:
"We appreciate the President for approving Governor Burgum's request for a disaster declaration. Our state was heavily impacted by a severe summer storm that caused flash flooding in several counties and resulted in more than $5 million in damage to North Dakota's infrastructure. This presidential disaster declaration unlocks needed federal assistance to help our communities recover."
