Congressman Cohen Announces UTHSC Grant to Study Hypertension

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $559,327 from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for research into arterial stiffness and hypertension.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I'm always pleased to announce significant grant funding for medical research to discover new approaches for treating and preventing hypertension, which is a persistent problem in Memphis, particularly in our Black community. As a co-Chair of the Biomedical Research Caucus, I am proud that Memphis is home to medical research leaders like UTHSC."
