Congressman Kim Votes to Protect Postal Service, Restore Critical Services

Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) voted to pass H.R. 8015, the Delivering for America Act, which would provide critical funding to the U.S. Postal Service, prohibit any changes to Postal Service operations that would degrade service, and require that all election mail is treated as first-class mail.

"I've heard from so many of our neighbors over the past months concerned about what they've seen from the Postal Service, and today's vote sends a strong message that we are not going to stand by and watch this essential service be degraded or harmed," said Congressman Kim. "Whether it's getting our seniors their prescriptions drugs, our veterans their benefits, or helping our small business owners stay afloat in these difficult times, the men and women of the U.S. Postal Service provide an essential function. I'm proud to stand with them and to ensure that our communities get the service they've come to expect and truly deserve."

Earlier this year, Congressman Kim called for Congressional action to protect and fully fund the Postal Service. Since initial reports of slowed service by the Postal Service, Congressman Kim has written to the Postmaster General, and led a delegation effort to press for answers and improved service.
