Congressman Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) today toured the Montana Air National Guard facilities with Colonel Trace Thomas, commander of the 120th Airlift Wing.
"The biggest need here at the Air National Guard is really to upgrade the C130s. The ones they have, the H models, are getting a little long in the tooth. They do a tremendous job maintaining those, but it's time to upgrade them to the new C-130 Js. I had a chance to talk to the Secretary of the Air Force, Secretary Barrett, in the last month here, emphasizing that need and really lobbying on behalf of this group making sure our men and women have the best equipment to get their job done," Gianforte said.
Gianforte spoke with airmen to learn more about what they do and the challenges they face.
Gianforte also received a briefing on the mission, activities, and needs of the Montana Air National Guard.
