Congressman Steven Horsford Votes to Pass Historic Conservation Legislation

Today, Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) voted to pass the Great American Outdoors Act, bipartisan conservation legislation that provides permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and establishes the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund to address the maintenance backlog at our national parks.

"Public lands and national parks make up over 50,000 square miles of my Congressional District and provide Nevada with 87,000 jobs and $1.1 billion in tax revenue. These areas are valuable to our state and deserve to be permanently funded," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "I am proud Congress could pass landmark legislation that continues to invest in our outdoor spaces, grows our economy, fights the climate crisis, and supports conservation for decades to come."

In 2019, Congressman Horsford joined members of the House in a bipartisan vote to permanently authorize the LWCF. Today's vote ensures it will be permanently funded.
