Rep. Susie Lee Lays Out Local Nevada Priorities in 2021 Appropriations Budget

U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) released a list of priorities for which she is advocating in the Fiscal Year 2021 Appropriations omnibus. The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on the first Appropriations minibus today and the remaining appropriations packages next week.

"The appropriations budget is a statement of our values as a country, and that's why I'm fighting for this year's budget to prioritize the needs of working families, students and teachers, access to health care, and getting our economy back on track," said Rep. Lee. "I'm prioritizing programs and resources that help Americans with their most basic needs, from fully funding Title 1 public schools, to investment in apprenticeships and employment opportunity programs, community health centers, minority-owned businesses, and opioid abuse prevention efforts.

"The COVID-19 pandemic should serve as a serious reality check for Congress about what Americans really need and what our purpose is as a legislative body," Rep. Lee continued. "During a moment when our constituents are counting on Congress to come together for the well-being of our nation, these are commonsense, proven programs that give Nevada and America's workers, students, and families the resources they need to succeed."
