Teaching should be one of the most honored, esteemed professions in the entire state. Retired teachers should be glad they taught. Active teachers should be glad they are teaching. And future, aspiring teachers should be eager to join the ranks of Texas educators at all levels. To ensure that, we must continue to invest in education, ensuring your taxpayer dollars are getting to the classroom -- where they do the most good. And we should keep advancing sound policies that strengthen our system of education, not just for the teachers, but for the students they are called to serve.
