Issue Position

Make no mistake: keeping our children safe will continue to be a top priority for me for as long as I have the opportunity to serve you at the Capitol. The pressing challenges on this front were made even more clear to me after I toured every single public school in House District 67 in the fall of 2018. I'm glad that we made great strides this past session, working in a bi-partisan fashion to advance proven security measures, to ensure additional counseling services and to improve and invest in innovative mental health resources. That said, our work on this front never ends. More than ever, the students and educators in the nearly 50 schools in House District, and the thousands of schools across Texas, expect and demand for the Legislature to give this issue the attention and focus it deserves.
