Congressman Kim Highlights Veterans' Issues on Telephone Town Hall

Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) was joined by Congressman Mark Takano (CA-41), the chairman of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, for a telephone town hall where they discussed issues impacting the veterans' community including access to health care and job opportunities during the Coronavirus crisis. This was the Congressman's 23rd town hall since coming into office.

"It's an honor as your member of Congress to get to speak with veterans almost every day about the issues they're facing, and I'm proud to get a chance to bring Chairman Takano virtually to our community to hear from our veterans," said Congressman Kim. "One of the most important things that Congress can do is work for our veterans; that work begins with listening. I want to thank everyone who took time to provide their questions and opinions, and I will continue to tirelessly work for our veterans to thank them for all they have given us."

Issues brought up by people from across Burlington and Ocean County on the town hall included the need to hold the VA accountable for their failure to deliver a new health care facility to Ocean County, efforts to address veteran homelessness and mental health, and the need to increase economic opportunities for veterans.

Congressman Kim has been a leading advocate for New Jersey's veterans, working to hold the VA accountable for their failure to bring a new veterans' health care facility to Ocean County, and introducing bipartisan legislation to protect veterans from VA errors and help veterans identify employment opportunities during their transition to civilian life.
