We are living in unprecedented times under the duress of COVID-19. Our Constitutional rights, such as the right to worship, are being eroded under executive order. As per Idaho State Constitution - Art. 4, Sec. 9, only the Governor himself has the ability to call a special session of the legislature.
If elected, Bruce will support a measure that allows the legislature to call a special session in the event of a state-of-emergency so our representatives could weigh in their collective thoughts on all aspects of any state-of-emergency. The checks and balances of a the executive, legislative, and judicial bodies of government must all be involved in good governance, especially in the event of a statewide crisis.
