Issue Position

Every Texan deserves to have equal access to medical assistance. My past work on the Human Services Committee helped me to develop a strong understanding of the need as well as the ability that we have in this great state to provide for all of our people. I will be working to help Texas provide health care for all Texans through Medicaid. This can be done without undue hardship on taxpayers of this state and could, by default, decrease the cost of healthcare due to early detection and preventative healthcare.being and prosperity of all Texans.

Through my over 20 years of public service I have focused on quality health and education for Texans and have worked tirelessly to ensure a fair and equitable business environment that includes protections for our environment for the future of our children.

In my position on the State Affairs and the Agriculture Committees in this legislative session, am well positioned to continue this mission. I am encouraged by the recent statements by Republican leaders as I see much common ground.
