We are at the beginning steps of a long road through the COVID pandemic.

We have succeeded in flattening the curve and saving countless lives.
Our upcoming challenges include navigating a gradual reopening of our economy, a step that requires rigorous public health tools such as testing and contact tracing with isolating the sick and quarantining the exposed. We must make sure our health care system has staff and supplies to accommodate resurgences of COVID.

Oregon needs a plan (and a fund) for rapid and statewide vaccination against COVID the minute a safe vaccine is available. Herd immunity will hasten our economic recovery.

We need universal masking. See our letter (140+ physicians) to Governor Brown (5/15/2020).

We need a robust and innovative plan to re-employ the hundreds of thousands of Oregonians who have lost their jobs and who are suffering in our economic downturn. Lisa is proposing a COVID bond program, like those offered in previous catastrophes, like war bonds. This can fund green jobs and other infrastructure programs.
