We will work to overturn the disastrous Citizens United decision. Campaign finance reform, including publicly financed elections, are essential for getting money out of the system. We oppose the assault on voting rights posed by gerrymandering and voter identification laws and will fight for measures that expand voting as a fundamental right. We encourage laws that promote government of, by, and for the people and support participation by all citizens in local elections. We will also push to expand and improve our mail-in ballot system.
This session I signed on as a Co-Sponsor to HB20-1066, which establishes contribution limits under the "Fair Campaign Practices Act" for school boards candidates. I've also started the early stakeholdering for publicly financed state Senate and House races. I've also joined with my colleagues to explore bringing ranked choice voting to Colorado.
