Date: July 15, 2020
Location: Bismarck, ND
Issues: Infrastructure

Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Office of Rural Development has awarded loans to two North Dakota recipients through the Community Facilities Direct Loan Program:

City of Dodge -- $1,770,000 loan to repair and reconstruct streets that are no longer adequate to serve projected future traffic due to the oil and gas industry.
Crystal Rural Fire District -- $900,000 loan to build an addition on to the fire hall for storage of gear, equipment and trucks. This additional space will permit the trucks to ultimately improve emergency response time.
"Today's investments will advance infrastructure projects to help meet the demands of our economy and improve public safety for these rural communities for years to come," said Hoeven.
