ICYMI: Rep. Cisneros, Sec. Padilla, and Census Bureau Host Town Hall on Census and 2020 Voting Procedures

Yesterday, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39), California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, and representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau hosted a virtual town hall on the census and 2020 voting procedures. Joining Rep. Cisneros and Sec. Padilla were Jennifer E. Lee, Partnership Specialist at LA Regional Office U.S. Census Bureau, and Guillermo Gonzalez, Congressional Partnership Specialist at LA Regional Office U.S. Census Bureau. To watch the town hall, click here. As of July 24th, the 39th District has a self-response rate of 71.9 percent.

"Participating in the U.S. Census is one of our most important civic responsibilities. It's why I hosted this town hall with Secretary Padilla and the Census Bureau to ensure our community has the information and confidence to fill out the census," said Rep. Cisneros. "While the 39th District's self-response rate is higher than the state's, we can do better. My office and I will continue to work with community partners to ensure every person is counted."

This marks Rep. Cisneros' 19th virtual town hall for the 39th District. He has been a strong advocate for a full and accurate Census count:
