Dr. Ruiz Puts Pressure on Vaccine Executives to Get it Right

Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) is putting pressure on companies to ensure vulnerable populations and frontline workers have access to COVID-19 vaccines. During a House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations hearing, Dr. Ruiz questioned executives on their vaccine distribution plans to address health disparities.
"Having millions of vaccines is a good first step, but we also need to be planning now how we get vaccines into the hands of the people that need it most," Dr. Ruiz said at the hearing. "I don't want to look back and have health equity be an afterthought. It has to be prioritized."
