Gov. Ricketts Celebrates Progress on Offutt Runway Reconstruction

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued a statement following news that a contractor had been selected to complete the runway reconstruction project at Offutt Air Force Base.

"Offutt Air Force Base is one of our state's largest employers, and it is key to growing Nebraska," said Governor Ricketts. "Completing this critical runway reconstruction project helps ensure that the base continues to grow our state for many years to come."

Through the years, Governor Ricketts has worked closely with Nebraska's federal delegation to conduct oversight of the runway replacement process and to support more opportunities at the air force base. Additionally, the Governor has successfully worked with the Legislature to secure funding to improve the levees that protect the air base.
