Utah and other western states are at huge disadvantage with lopsided land ownership being controlled by the federal government. This issue is about access and balance, and I will work to convince key stakeholders that by working together, Utah and the federal government can find agreement and create policies that benefit all of us. As your Congressman, tourism, recreation, energy diversity, agricultural opportunity, and conservation will always remain a driving force for decision making. I believe public lands will benefit greatly from the current conversation of states' rights and local decision-making. Utahns have an opportunity to over-communicate how much we care about conserving our beautiful parks, wildlife, and other scenery. We need to work with federal government agencies to provide equitable access and opportunities for recreation-based and agricultural economies to thrive.
