Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13) issued the following statement after he voted against the House Democrat-led police legislation:

"It's truly sad that, just like with Phase Four of COVID-19 relief, Democrats in the House and Senate refused to work with Republicans to craft a police reform bill that could actually become law. Instead, they blocked the JUSTICE Act from Sen. Tim Scott, and forced a House vote on legislation that would make it harder for cops to do their jobs. It's clear Democrats don't want to solve these problems, they just want to play more politics."
